Calypso Music Lyrics by David Rudder Classic Calypso Lyrics 1987 (2nd Place Calypso Monarch 1987. David Rudder placing 2nd, de-throned by Black Stalin Bun Dem. An epic battle with Stalin coming out at the top. Rudder humbly accepting defeat and walked out with Stalin holding his hand! Can you hear a distant drum Bouncing on the laughter of a melody ( yea, yea) And does the rhythm tell you, come, come, come Does your spirit do a dance to this symphony Does it tell you that your heart is afire Does it tell you that your pain is a liar Does it wash away all your unlovely And are you ready.

Hey now, now Oh, oh, oh. Didn't know what time it was the lights were low I leaned back on my radio Some cat was layin down some rock n roll lotta soul, he said Then the loud sound did seem to fade Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase That weren't no DJ that was hazy cosmic jive.

Rudder's 1990 album, 1990, was named "best calypso album of the year" at the first Caribbean Music Awards at the Apollo Theater in New York while the title track was named "song of the year" at the Nefeita Awards. The following year, his album Rough and Ready received three Sunshine Awards. According to the Village Voice, Rudder is "the first of a new generation of calypsonians and he's opening up a whole new way to write, sing, feel and see the thing. His music transcends culture, race, and class

Middle Man is an album by Boz Scaggs that was released by Columbia Records in 1980. The album reached No. 8 in the Billboard 200 album chart, and two singles reached the Billboard Hot 100: "Breakdown Dead Ahead" at No. 15 and "Jojo" at No. 17.

Okay, first of all the song 'Man Who Sold the world' was a single by David Bowie way back in November 1970, and it was covered by nirvana and released in 1994  . The conversation with his alter ego is clear when Bowie Says in the lyrics that I thought you died alone and oh no not me we never lost control ( we never is the bisexual in him) ziggy talking back oh not me I never lost control.

David Michael Rudder (born 6 May 1953) is a calypsonian from Trinidad, one of the most successful calypsonians of all time. Born in Belmont, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, one of nine children, Rudder spent much of his early life with his grandmother, a devout Baptist. He began singing with a calypso band at a young age, and in his teens sang backup vocals in a calypso tent run by Lord Kitchener. In 1977, he joined Charlie's Roots, a leading band in Trinidad and Tobago, and spent many years as one of the band's vocalists. This song was featured on Andy Narell's album ‘The Hammer’ and won Rudder his first Calypso Monarch Title in 1986. Charles’ innovation, creativity and love for pan will forever be immortalized through this smash hit and tribute.
