Old man waiting At the gates for me Give me the wisdom Give me the key. I'm telling you I will not rest till I lay down my head In the house of stone and light. Let me in beneath my skin In the house of stone and light. It's been too long My spirit's been at war Havasupai Shaman Let me be reborn.

Martin George Page (born 23 September 1959) is an English singer-songwriter and bass player. During 1994, Page issued his debut solo album In the House of Stone and Light. The title track, which he wrote reflecting on a visit to the Grand Canyon, was issued the same year. As a single "In the House of Stone and Light" reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 10. .Soon afterwards, his parents and some dear friends died. He returned to the studio in 2008 to record his second album, In the Temple of the Muse for IroningBoard Records, an independent label started by Page and Poncher.

It's not every artist who, on his debut album, can get Phil Collins to play drums and Robbie Robertson to play guitar, and who can write a couple of songs with Bernie Taupin, Elton John's lyricist. But Martin Page chalked up a few hits as a writer before launching his own recording career, and it shows, not only in the superstar guest shots, but also in his musical approach. In the House of Stone and Light is the work of an artist who has been making demos of his songs for a decade and getting a string of pop covers for his trouble.

Of the seventies hard-rock dinosaurs that still roam the earth, Deep Purple is one of the few with any credibility left in its crunch. The House of Blue Light - the second album by Purple’s classic In Rock lineup since their return to active duty - is certainly a marked improvement over their lukewarm ’84 comeback, Perfect Strangers, and, except for a couple of outright duds on side two, is as good as this band has ever been since its Smoke on the Water salad days.
